CoolerScout puts cameras in shops. That deserves a policy of its own rather than a paragraph buried in a privacy notice, so this is it — what the cameras see, what happens to the pictures, and what they may never be used for.
Each camera is aimed at the shelves of one cooler, from a short distance, either inside the cabinet or on the outside of its door. It takes one still photograph on a schedule you set. It does not record video. It has no microphone.
If a camera can see anything meaningful beyond the cooler it is aimed wrong. Move it. Framing that takes in an aisle, a till, a doorway, or a work area is outside what this product is for and outside what these terms permit.
Four hours. Enforced twice over: the service deletes each cooler's older frames every time a new one arrives, and an hourly sweep removes them from coolers that have stopped uploading. After that the only thing kept is the outcome — which shelf slots were stocked, low or empty — which carries no image.
There is no archive. We cannot produce last week's photograph of your shop, because it does not exist.
These are conditions of use, not suggestions. Using cameras this way is a breach of the Terms of Service.
Rules about cameras on business premises vary by state and country, and some require notice to staff or customers. Complying where your store is remains your responsibility. Because the cameras sit inside coolers and delete within four hours, most operators find this straightforward — but check rather than assume.
Pictures travel over HTTPS and are stored encrypted, with all public access blocked; they are only ever served through short-lived private links. A camera holds no cloud credentials — it gets a token good only for uploading pictures of its own cooler, revoked the moment you remove it in the app.
